Subaru MY09 WRX Details released October 9th PDF Print E-mail

Stop press - the my09 WRX details have been released. Read here for details!

Following the launch of the Impreza R, RX and RS sedans, Subaru will launch the WRX variant of the popular model at the Sydney motor show on October 9th.

Pricing and specifications are as yet unconfirmed, but with all the negative reviews that the MY08 WRX has received, it would appear that Subaru have been listening and is ready to return fire. The new MY09 WRX will almost certainly have 190kw, perhaps even 198kw, an increase of over 20kw on the previous model. In addition, ansering criticism of the current model, it will also have a much needed suspension upgrade - we hope this includes better wheels and tyres too. An automatic transmission will also be available.

Do you own or plan to purchase this model?  then review our MVD partnership here where you can benefit!

Such enhancements puts the WRX in a position to go head to head with its upcoming rival, the new Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart and also bring bring it back into contention against other local competitors, against which the current MY08 model was placed last in its category in Motor's 2008 BFYB (Bang For Your Bucks).

With such a jump in power output. the gap between the WRX and the STi is much closer, and rumours are that Subaru will push the STi to 243kw to maintain the distinction! Watch this space!
