Brett get's cold

The aim was to raise $250 thousand dollars for homeless people. MRT's individual target was one thousand dollars and this was exceeded, to a total of $1800. There were over 200 CEO's there on the night including people like Dick Smith.

After arriving at 7 pm, there was a light dinner provided (soup and a bread roll) and everyone had the opportunity to find a spot to sleep. Visy supplied two pallets of carboard sheet and based on feedback there was never ever going to be enough to replace a comfy bed!

Some CEO's managed to score 10 sheets to make the hard ground a litte more bearable, Brett and his mates slept on just one!

The rain made the night a little more "differrent" and thankfully by 11.30pm it had stopped and a spot was found in Luna park under an awning.

Most other CEO's slept on the steel covered floor of the dodgem cars, whilst a few less hardy ones, managed to secure a spot in the Crystal palace that conveneientky had carpet! The night got very cold at 3 am when the clouds dissapeared and it was then until 6am that brett felt the importance of what the whole night was aimed at!

"Raising the money was one thing, the humbling experience of realising what thousands of people do every night, had a greater impact on me than I first expected. Even with a sleeping bag and warm clothes, I still got very cold. The hard ground also had an effect on my bum and back!

Sharing the night with my close freinds, Steve, jeremey and Andrew made it more bearable and the support from many people was motivating.  Thank you to those who individually donated, including those from the Subaru and Mitsubishi communities on the various online forums.

I will 100% do it again next year and this time I will take my 3 children so they can share in the experience as well." said Brett.
