does it happen if you turn the steering while the car is stationary?

It might be the rubber boot that is split and lost it grease. It's just behind the wheel. They normally last about 100,000km before they spilt.

It depends how long it's been dried out for. Sometime repacking the joint is enough, but if it has been running dry for a while, you will need a replacement joint.

Usually the best option is to buy a reconditioned CV shaft with the joint on it. If you get a reconditioned one, you're looking at around $500 including labour. It's a fair bit of work to fit it as the drive shaft has to come out.

Best to get the problem checked by a mechanic first though as it could be something else. Hard to diagnose over the internet!

Yeh having a great week lol its the norm could it be the struts ?? the noise on the left stopped when it was pouring down with rain the other week so i dunno.
